The well-child care exam is a critically important aspect in the care of your child. Amherst Pediatric Associates cares for children from birth until the 22nd birthday. Well visits are at 3-5 days of age; 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 24 and 30 months of age; and annually from the 3rd birthday until the 21st birthday. Our
well visit schedule
provides a schedule of well visits, immunizations and screening tests due at each visit.
At every visit, growth and development are monitored. Medical conditions and medications are reviewed at each visit. The interim medical history is reviewed. Necessary vaccines are given and screening tests are performed. The physical exam is performed to ensure that your child is healthy. School forms, sports forms and working papers are filled out as necessary.
Every well visit allows us to better know and understand you and your child and for you and your child to be comfortable with the pediatric office.
All health supervision visits (well visits) are by appointment only. You may schedule these visits with a provider of your choice either by phone, by our postcards that can be filled out annually or by requesting an appointment online .
You will be reminded by phone before your appointment date, but please make a note of your appointment so that you will not be subject to the missed appointment fee.
Typically, well visits are covered in full by insurance and usually are not associated with a copayment (however, it is best to check with your insurance company before each visit, as some insurances do charge copays/deductibles for well visit).
